About

Building the next generation of Athletes of Art.

The story of a dancer who refused to accept that beauty must come at the cost of the body. The story of a company built to prove otherwise.

The Founder

A principal dancer who reimagined the system that shaped him.

Joseph Gatti's career spans the world's most prestigious stages — Boston Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Corella Ballet, Sao Paulo Companhia de Dança — performing principal roles in every major ballet in the repertoire.

But behind the applause was a quiet truth he could not unsee: brilliant dancers, all around him, breaking down. Knees, ankles, hips, spines. Careers that should have lasted twenty years ending in ten.

United Ballet Theatre is his answer. A company and academy built on a single, stubborn conviction — that the art form deserves dancers who are trained as completely as any elite athlete in the world.

That conviction has a name. Athletes of Art Movement Methodology.

Marisol Gatti

UBT Director of Education & Operations

CUBAN-TRAINED INTERNATIONAL BALLET EDUCATOR & PROFESSIONAL DANCER

An international career devoted to classical excellence and the next generation of dancers.

Born in Mexico, Marisol Gatti is a professionally trained ballet artist, educator, and choreographer with an international career spanning North America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Latin America.

She completed her professional ballet training at the prestigious Fernando Alonso National Ballet School of Cuba, graduating as both a classical dancer and ballet teacher. Throughout her career, she has performed with leading companies while also representing Mexico at cultural events abroad.

As an educator, Marisol has trained students at the professional level, guiding them toward acceptance into internationally recognized ballet institutions — combining a strong foundation in classical technique with a passion for artistic excellence, mentorship, and dancer development.

In addition to her performance and teaching career, she has created original choreographic works, participated in theater and opera productions, and continued her studies in languages and art history — enriching her artistic vision.

Today, she contributes to the artistic and directing growth of United Ballet Theatre, dedicated to inspiring the next generation of dancers and advancing the organization's mission of excellence in the performing arts.

Our Purpose

Guided by mission. Driven by vision.

Mission

Preserving the art. Passing on the craft.

At UBT, our mission is to preserve and pass on the art of classical ballet through exceptional training, mentorship, and education. We inspire dancers of all ages to achieve technical excellence, artistic expression, and personal growth while honoring the traditions and values that have shaped ballet for generations.

Vision

A lasting legacy for the next generation.

Our vision is to be a leading center for classical ballet education, recognized for excellence in training and for nurturing future generations of dancers. By honoring classical tradition and fostering artistic development, we strive to ensure the lasting legacy and continued evolution of ballet for years to come.

A Letter From The Founder

Treating dancers as the athletes they truly are.

"Many ballet institutions claim dancers are athletes — but do not treat them as such."

Joseph M. Gatti

UBT Artistic Director, International Guest Artist and Coach.

At United Ballet Theatre, it's our principle and passion to continually improve our ways of providing the most beneficial, well-balanced ballet organization in the world.

Being a professional dancer for over 20 years, I have witnessed the impact injuries have had on my fellow dancers across the ballet world. I've performed on the biggest stages and seen how companies are run — and how many dancers get drawn into institutions that prioritize short-term solutions over long-term wellbeing.

It wasn't until I suffered a serious injury in 2015 that I knew I wanted to create a professional ballet company — and eventually an academy — where dancers felt protected and knew they would receive a uniquely balanced schedule: not only rehearsals, but designated time throughout the day for cross-training, conditioning, Pilates, treatment, and recovery.

After leaving the company world, I finally had time to cross-train and condition under the guidance of physical therapists and personal trainers who specialize in ballet. The benefits in my performances and class were immediate. I realized that technique class and rehearsals alone cannot prepare a dancer for the demands of classical ballet and the choreography of today's stage.

At UBT, we understand we cannot prevent every injury. The choices artists make outside the studio matter just as much as what happens inside it. In the end, it is your body and your life.

United Ballet Theatre is committed to giving every dancer the time, guidance, and tools needed to pursue a healthier, happier, stronger, and longer career in dance. Our mission extends beyond exceptional ballet training—we are equally dedicated to the health, well-being, and longevity of every student.

We believe excellence and enjoyment can coexist. By fostering a culture of hard work, integrity, and passion, United Ballet Theatre empowers dancers not only to achieve their goals, but to sustain them for a lifetime.

Healthier.

Integrated treatment & recovery built into every week.

Happier.

Artists protected, supported, and seen as humans first.

Stronger.

Cross-training, conditioning, and Pilates as daily practice.

Longer.

Careers engineered to last decades — not a handful of seasons.

Our Values

Artistry. Athleticism. Science. Performance. Wellness. Longevity.

Six pillars. One promise: to send every dancer home stronger than they arrived.
